Setting Your Foosball Stance

Foosball Stance Overview:
Having the proper foosball stance is something that most beginner players overlook but is vitally important so you can feel relaxed and shoot a fast foosball shot. Just like in other sports like baseball, having the right stance and grip will impact your performance. The key is to be comfortable and position your body to allow freedom of movement.

Setting Your Foosball Stance:
Foosball Soccer suggests slightly angling your body and feet at a diagonal with the left side of your body closer to the table and your right side further away. The goal with this foosball stance is to allow your right arm to move more freely as you move the foosball rod in and out. The defensive 2 rod and offensive 3 rod are longer rods that you will need more space to pull back toward your body than the other 2 rods. To demonstrate how this will make a dramatic impact, stick your right arm straight out in front of your body and try to pull it straight back. See how there is some resistance once your elbow hits your side? Now stick your right arm across the left side of your body and pull it to your right. See how much further you can pull your arm without any resistance? The foosball stance diagram below will show you how to position your feet in order to have the proper stance.

This foosball stance will also help you stay out of the way of your partner. There is nothing more annoying than rubbing elbows with your partner as you are trying to make a shot. The proper foosball stance limits the resistance and will also make you feel more comfortable when playing the game.
