Foosball Table Balls
There are a variety of foosball balls on the market today that all have a different play style and level of quality. You want to find a ball that can be easily gripped or pinned down against the foosball table with your foosball men. You should stay away from foosballs made of plastic or with a slick, shiny finish. Foosball balls are made with a range of materials from cork, textured, smooth, and traditional soccer balls. With the exception of the cork balls, you can clean any of these materials with soapy water or 70% alcohol solution and a wet rag.
One nice thing about balls is you can always upgrade the standard balls that come with your foosball table. However, if you purchase the right table to begin with, you should already get quality foosball balls. And, some foosball tables require a certain style of foosball balls because of the way the table is designed to play. For instance, European foosball tables come with cork foosball balls because their tables are designed for pinning the ball down and require more of a finesse game than American tables. American foosball balls are mostly made with a hard outside surface to accommodate for the speed of the fast-paced game.

Textured Foosball Balls
These balls are the most common for American tournament style foosball tables like the Tornado or the Dynamo lines. Textured balls are a great blend between the cork and the smooth balls because they allow you to grip and pin the ball down between the man and the table, but also have a dense and solid feel that allows them to travel at high speeds. These high speeds make the game a little noisy when bouncing off walls and scoring goals. This is important to the American style of play and we do not recommend using different balls unless you are playing on a European table like a Bonzini foosball table. If you are playing on a European table, see the Cork foosball balls below. |

Cork Foosball Balls
Cork balls are associated with the European style tables. The style of play they offer is a more methodical game that is based on strategy, deception and execution of pin shots. Pin shots consist of pinning the ball between the man and the table in order to trap it. From the pin you can pass the ball forward to advance it or even shoot. The cork balls make more of a muffled, thud sound when bouncing around. They are known for being sticky and tacky that helps to improve ball control for the finesse games that are played on European tables. |

Traditional Soccer Balls
Soccer balls are typically found on cheaper foosball tables. These are more for the novelty effect of the old tables of the 1970's rather than performance. These are cheap balls that are used for low-end tables that are more toys than a sport table. The worst thing about the traditional style balls are the inset lines that caused the balls to continue rolling which can make your table seem as if it were not leveled. The other negative we have with these is they have an extremely slick coating on the outside making them harder to pin, grip or control overall. They also make a lot of noise when they bounce around. The good news is you can upgrade these balls fairly inexpensively if your table came with them. |

Smooth Foosball Balls
Smooth balls are not one of our recommended foosball balls. These are better than the traditional soccer balls, but they are still lacking the tacky factor that helps to enhance ball control. The slick coating on the outside make these extremely hard to keep pinned under your man or even stop for a controlled shot. The advantage these have over the traditional ones is they don't have little engraved lines making them have a more predicable roll on the surface. These also offer a loud style of play that is undesirable. |

Foosball Replacement Balls Price
You can buy foosball balls for pretty cheap compared to other foosball replacement parts. Balls typically start out at about $2.00 US a piece and can go up to about $6.00 US if you want to buy Tornado style tournament balls. We recommend buying your balls in a 4 pack since they tend to fly off the table and get lost over time.
