No manufacturers bother to write up a manual on how to take apart a foosball table but those of us who own one find ourselves having to do this over the years. We aim to help you understand how to disassemble a table also provide some helpful tips that could end up saving you hours in the long-run.
Before you get started we suggest you ask yourself why are you taking it apart and how much room you will have when moving it. Are you simply moving it downstairs in your house? Do you have a big truck where space isn't a concern when shipping it? If so you might be able to get away with just removing the foosball table legs instead of disassembling the entire thing. Taking the legs off and tilting it sideways is a nice little trick to condense the size of the table and will allow you to enter it through doorways without completely taking it apart. Just note that it will make the foosball table much heavier when transporting it because the rods are still attached and also makes carrying it a little awkward with the bars sticking through the table. You will need to hold the table higher than normal, especially when going up or down stairs.
If you are convinced that your rods will need to be removed, we suggest starting by removing the rods instead of starting with the legs. This will make it easier to stand than crouch down over the table on the floor. The foosball men are typically fastened to the rods so start by removing the men so you can slide them down the rod to pull all 8 rods out.
