Foosball Pull Kick Shot

Overview of the Foosball Pull Kick Shot
The foosball pull kick shot is similar to the pull shot where you pull the rod towards your body, pass the ball to another player on the same rod and then kick the ball in the goal. The only difference is when you pull the foosball rod you pass the ball to another man along the same rod and kick the ball in. On offense, this shot is typically taken by passing it from your far outside man and shooting it with the middle man, but you can also go from the middle to the close man or even the far to the close. The pull kick is also a popular shot taken on defense from the 2 bar. You can think of this shot as a passing shot that all happens in one swift motion. The pull kick shot requires a little more ball control and foosball passing skills than the regular pull shot. We advise to practice these skills on your own outside of games so you can perfect them.

Learning to Set Up the Foosball Pull Kick Shot
Learning to tic-tac pass back and forth between all 3 of your offensive men on the same rod is key to setting up this shot. The tic-tac pass must be mastered in order to maintain control of the ball, surprise your opponent, and shoot a fast foosball shot.

Pull Kick Shot Techniques and Methods
For this shot you will need to learn to shoot an open-handed shot. Try passing the ball back and forth between your outside 3 bar man to your center man and kicking the ball in. Next, open your hand as you release the pass and roll your wrist upward when you kick the shot. This will increase your overall shot speed. You may need to practice this wrist rolling motion in order to become accurate with your pull kick shots.
Placing the Foosball Pull Kick Shot
If you examine your foosball table you will find that the goal is a total of 5.8 widths of the actual foosball ball. Obviously, this means that you have 5 "holes" that you can place the pull kick shot in (see the diagram). Also, the defensive player has 2 defensive foosball men that are in front of the goal, covering 2 of these holes. Your objective is to place the pull kick shot in 1 of these 3 open holes.
Reading the Foosball Pull Kick Defense
The advantage of the pull kick shot is its power of surprise. The pull kick can make any pass become a shot on offense. You can read your opponent to see if they are lazy and leaving open holes as you pass the ball around on your offensive bar. If they are not following the ball everywhere you go and leaving obvious holes open, then you can easily surprise them with a long pull kick shot. Make sure to always add fakes to your shot series so you can keep your opponent honest, especially if you will be playing the same opponent in many games back to back. If you shoot the same holes over and over, your opponent will adapt their foosball defense to be able to block that hole. Learning how to shoot all holes will make you a more productive and unpredictable player on offense.
