Foosball Bearings
A bearing, also known as a bushing, is a part that is inserted into the holes in the sides of the table that allow the rods to slide in and out of the table. The bearings allow for less friction between the rod and the hole so you can easily perform fast shots. This is a part overlooked by many players when shopping for a foosball table. Quality foosball bearing parts allow for a smoother gliding of the rods and faster shots so you want to make sure the table manufacturer does not try to cut corners on their bearings. It may be difficult to tell whether or not your table has high quality bushing because slow rod movement can be caused by a variety of different factors like heavy rods or a table that may need silicone applied to the them. That is why we recommend purchasing a Tornado or Dynamo table because both of these brands do not make a table with cheap bearings.
Maintaining Your Foosball Bearings
Take a bottle of liquid silicone and apply a drop or two of silicone at the end of the rod next to the bearing. Then all you have to do is slide the rod into the bearing and spin it around in a few circles in a slow motion. This will ensure that your bearing stays lubricated and it will extend the life of the bearing so you don't have to replace your bearings as often. |
Replacement Foosball Bearings Price
Foosball bearings typically cost between $2.50-5 dollars US each and there are a total of 16 foosball bearings on a table, two for each of the eight rods. Keep in mind that some manufacturers, such as the high end Tornado split bearings, are split into 2 pieces so it may seem like there are double the amount of parts but be careful to do your research. Make sure to replace your bearings with the same brand as your table or you could end up with different spacing than your table is supposed to have and it could throw off your entire game.
